Close your eyes and open your ears...you need to listen to the audio carefully to decide what will go where. Once you determine what will go where, create a few dummy layers (layers that won't have anything drawn on them) to mark where a drum beat will go, where a trumpet will blare, a strum of a guitar, etc.
I'd strongly recommend practicing on smaller scale songs and words first before tackling a full out music video. Large projects like that seem intimidating at first, but if you practice and chip away at it piece by piece, it will come together quite nicely.
